Eyes of the Mill

Two tiny eyes peer out of a small lonely cage Through which fear and pain is betrayed An innocent creature so small and weak Forced to suffer by the hand of the beast This puppy will probably starve to death His mother underfed and bred until her last breath His siblings will sleep upon a filthy and cold cage floor Until they pass away or are sold at the local pet store How such torture is overlooked and ignored Nobody knows how the puppy they see in the store Must suffer and live as an uncared for wreck For the sake of the owner’s paycheck Two little eyes are the windows into a tortured soul So small, afraid, frail, and alone But the beast is out there still The heartless man and his mill
