EYES OPEN BLIND

Like a battle weary soldier she saunters too and fro.

Her speak less clear than self realized, she rambles, on as she goes.

Time and again illumination comes, time to and again pained truth she shuns.

Run girl run, hide from truth if you must.

Run girl run, for you there can be no dusk.

No setting sun for the stings you would cover, no soothing cool, the moon will not hover.

For you it is time you must be sure.

From truth you run, to hide, bears no fruit.

Yet run if you must, hide if you will.

Truth will find you no matter the space, you creep yourself into.

Cozy and cuddled, seeming warm and safe you cannot hide, there is no escape.

Truth will come and truth will bite.

Truth will come in its righteous might.

Now be brave and face what you must.

You’ll not long hide your tender bust.

Your heart will know, will feel what it must.

This compact with Life a sacred trust.

You stand tall, you must! Seek not to cover nor shield your bare bust.

Stand tall, stand long, long as you must. Face the light bright!

Long death, or short Life forever your fate.
