Facing My Face

I’ve been afraid to show myself, living in the world has been scary.

When people came near me, I didn’t know their intentions so instead I paid them no attention.

Hiding behind my personal wall, a dark place was my only space.

Knocked down, tossed around searching to be found.

No one found me, lost standing around I picked my head up and found me. I started to see the world, breathing easily I accepted my life.

Standing tall, feeling free my heart was finally at ease.

I was afraid to show myself, but in the light I saw my own face and thus far it’s been my best embrace.

I accept my journey, I love myself and with that I have no doubts.
