Fade and Gray
It all just seems to fade and gray,
wishin thoughts would all just go away
many things unclear to say
then a joker came to me one day
love and society is the riddle he told
laughing and crying, he knows my future scroll
It struck me like the blue
hypocritical, never thought I be a fool
those whiny songs I now find true
ever since the day he changed untrue
a fight with fate I fell for you?
Was it love if it even exists?
why these damn flashbacks must persist?
The world is liberating but enslaving
I know you feel your life is cavin'
as it all just seems to fad and gray.
Alone in a room full of "closest friends"
can't escape, the chains drag you to your end
the key in your hand unlocks the riddle:
Individuality, you had when little
But the key seems so far away but it rests in your hand,
so you sink to the bottom, or rise to the top?
conform to success but unhappiness
So the joker laughs,
and then he cries,
the world killed my butterflies.
