Fading Memories

It's summer, they're running, playing. The smiles on their faces never fade.

They are unbreakable.

They go everywhere together.

In all of their memories, the other is there too.

All of a sudden, their memories start to split, one after the other.

She starts to fade.

So how do you forget?

How do you move on? How do you move on from your entire childhood?

How is it possible to let go of who was once your other half?

She’s alone now.

Day by day she fades away.

She says she’s fine, as she fights the tears from flooding her eyes.

She was always there for them.

One mistake can change everything. Her friends weren’t very forgiving.

Her best friend, her other half, let her go so easily.

But she pushed away, she made her own path.

She didn't let the social norm sweep her away.

She never knew how strong she was.

Now all that’s left of their friendship are some fading memories.
