A Faery Heart
So long have I,
Who loves the sky,
The earth, the rain,
Who wonders why,
They return no love the same.
Can I not be
Part of the sea,
The fire the earth,
Daughter of faery,
Beloved by the breath of birth?
Dare I say,
Dare I pray,
For life and love
And light of day,
To seek guidance from the moon above.
A faery heart,
A faery heart
Is what I long.
To be made of art
And born from crystal song.
To be free,
To be me,
In my home
Beneath the trees
That I was born from
To be old,
To be cold
Yet so blazingly young.
Forever told
In the legends that are sung.
To be fair,
To be ne’er
But mischief vile.
To lovingly care
With a face so guile.
To be grown,
To be known,
And not known at all.
To be there
When all the stars fall.
