Failed Misanthropy (Part 8: Scotty)

You know,

Once upon a time,

He really wasn't that cute.

He was awkward,

Skinny,

And Strange.

No one understood him or really even tried.

Hearing what other people said about him,

What other people thought,

Well that hurt,

It hurt a lot.

But,

He persevered,

Giving their hate no heed.

He soon transformed into the guy that could fulfill every girl's need.

His tan skin,

His bright eyes,

His uniquely styled hair,

His soon-to-be-tattoo,

His happy-go-lucky demeanor,

Never lacking his own personal flair.

Everyone loved him now,

As he started to fit in,

All because he became hotter in his own skin.

He still loves all his weird things and gets over excited.

He's adorably honest and overwhelmingly loyal like a man who should be knighted.

One would be hard-pressed to find a better friend.

One so attractive in more ways than one,

One so oblivious to every single one.

His authenticity,

His strength,

His sweet disposition makes him easy to know and terribly easy to love.

That's why I've tried to keep him at arms length,

Someone like him,

Deserves an affection I couldn't muster.

My mind too messed up and my heart too fickle,

My ability to reciprocate such emotion...

Simply lack luster.
