Failing in the Church
Ok I think it’s time for me to say something
And God has placed this on my heart for a long time.
Do you really want to know why people don’t want to come to the church?
Well it is all very simple, when we subtract everyone who is not in the church and add everyone who is in the church it all comes down to a very simple answer… YOU!
You see as a child I have experienced several church going folk, and can I tell you something that’s all they are… church going folk.
Well you know what, let me make this easier for you, let’s go to church real quick.
So I walk in, rather late of course because you know we can never be on time haha CP time, or maybe it’s because the first hour of service is going over the announcements while the last 5 minutes actually goes to the sermon. But you know that’s beside the point.
So I walk in and find a seat in the middle section of the sanctuary.
Oh there goes Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Harry always sitting next to each other with their church hats on looking like a bag of skittles.
Oops I’m sorry that wasn’t Godly of me.
But I’m sitting behind them and as the daily newspaper is being read up front, I mean service, all I can hear is Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Harry talking about Michelle… You guys know Michelle, the one who has three kids with two different baby daddies. Yeah her.
Well here goes Mrs. Jenkins. “Well if she kept her legs closed she wouldn’t be in this mess.” And Mrs. Harry “Mm Mm Mm look at her coming in here looking like a dang oh stripper bringing that bad kids to church, she need to go on somewhere.”
Ha! Little do they know Michelle is working two jobs making sure her kids are able to eat while she goes to bed starving, and on top of that taking online college classes to get her degree so she can further support her kids, while coming to church every Sunday with a humble heart repenting her sins and asking her God to lead her and guide her in her life. While you are sitting around gossiping in the church which the Lord tells us not to do (Leviticus 19:16) instead of trying to help her as women of God, well that’s at least what you say you are.
Oh and there goes Jerry, good man, he’s nice intelligent and believes in God with all his heart. Needless to say he’s gay. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t have a problem with homosexuals, I don’t condone it, but I have no problem with them. He does.
Giving that you study the word and fill yourself with Godly principles, why is it that you fail with this one lifestyle so to speak. Is it that you failed to skip over (Leviticus 18:22) or is it that because you come to church every Sunday, and engage yourself in Godly activity that what you’re doing is ok? That this one little bitty lifestyle choice isn’t going to hinder your chance in walking into the gates of heaven.
Haha! look at Derrick acting like he’s reading the bible when he’s really texting his best friend’s mom about that extraordinary night they had when he spent the night supposedly helping Paul with his science project. Looks like you both need to go ahead and read (1 Thessalonians 4:1-8)
And let me not forget you, texting the woman of your dreams asking her what she is doing later on tonight when you fail to tell your wife that she is beautiful every day.
And you call yourself sitting in the pew telling me to be loyal to God and you can’t even be loyal to the woman you lay your head next too. And I mean your wife, not the woman in your phone titled sister-in-law. Oops did I say that out loud. You just may need to take a different career path and read the whole bible.
So this is the place I come to every Sunday to worship my God. Ha well at least try to over the ignorance standing in front, behind, and beside me. I wouldn’t want to step foot in this place either if I knew half the things going on in this place called church where I come to worship, repent, and try to become a better person by faith when the people already in here fail to do the same.
So as I conclude because there simply isn’t enough time to keep going… Oh you thought that was it, oh no there are several things wrong with the church. But because I only have 5 minutes to really preach to you I would take a look at yourself before you start bringing yourselves in the church of God.
