A Fairy and Pixie Dust
The distilled temper of an alluring fairy,
a fey beauty so delicate and bewitching.
Her polished persuasion of all who came
ensorcelled, every last one
as if pixie dust had seduced them to silence.
A young man, with disbelief in the tales he thought myth
came upon the doorstep of the gracefully endearing fairy.
A bloom of tenderness, like a fracturable blossom of a leaf,
awoke within the walls of his heart
a warm tenderness previously unknown.
But this alluring, ethereal fairy,
she was the chimera of legend
the fire breathing beast that destroys homes and lives.
Her shape had been twisted in the eyes of all
as if they had been covered in a puff of opium.
The fragile flower that had germinated in the root of his existence
wiped out, crushed under the Chimera’s feet.
The extermination, the bloom obscured by rot.
He cracked, his essence slopped away, his heart devoid of sun.
The infant vacuum became an all consuming blight.
The child void, now a full grown, shattering black hole,
stands in the roots of his existence
sending deafening shouts to shatter his world.
Its height, gargantuan and terrifying,
overwhelms.
And, still, his putrid longing endures.
