Fairy in my Yard

I have a fairy in my yard
      just once
I’d joyfully
give up my old red barn
to sit for a spell
      beside  her
I’d sing my songs
       tell my tales
and dance with snails
to visit in the spring breeze
and ring the bells
as I lifted up my arms
to the heavens
      with all my charms
to sit for a spell
      with the fairy
who lives in my yard

Out behind the barn
      Farmer Dale
pull out your yarn
      and sit out near
where the bumble bees
     go
Call out the fairy
     out there where she dwells
I’ll dance through the garden
     with feet up high
and do a sigh
     just to see my fairy
before I die

I even get on my knees
     and pull up the weeds
just to see her flitter by
me.
    I was taught
and surely
     was caught
wishing to sit with the fairy
     and surely will Count on
she is real

I won’t stamp my seal
     until it’s a real deal
trust with my heart
I’ll sit with my fairy
