Fairy Tale Ending

She's wondering what it's really like
to be in love, to be alone
see the paper mache smile as it's
dripping down her cheekbone
she's trying so hard to remember
if the eyes that held her are still there
or if they look the same way
when they're holding something else
and as she's scribbling nothing
in her mind there is still something
that she wishes she could tell those eyes
but the paper mache gets cracked and dry

" if I could stop the world from turning
so I could make our fairy tales true
and fly through clouds and towns to you
beleive me, I would
and I dont think you ever really had that understood

and if I could make everyone ekse
completely disappear
for even just a day, beleive me, I would
we're both so worth it, but both so undeserving"

and she knows that everyone
that says that they're in love
used to know what it was like to be alone
when all she ever wanted
was to fill the empty space
the paper mache is melting away
it's a fairy tale story without
   a fairy tale ending
