Fairy Tale Princess

Fairy Tale Princess

You called me your sweet princess,
It was a fairy tale you see,
Only the happy ever after
Wasn’t meant to be.
The look I had once in my eyes,
Shined bright as the stars above.
Now they weep of tears from your lies
And they are empty of any love
So I'm bowing my head in defeat,
Knowing this betrayal came from you,
Is something my heart can’t repeat.
If I had only known the love, I had.
Wasn’t meant to stay,
I wouldn't have never given it away.
You say you'll remember the good times,
But we both know that isn't true.
Just as all fairy tale ends.
My love will transcend.
