A Fairytale

I am going off on a perilous quest

to slay the dragon and free the princess.

The princess will remain locked in the tower

so long as the dragon has the power.

Which will not be for very long

for I’m going out to vanquish wrong.

I am noble

I am brave

I’m headed for the dragon’s cave.

Where I will kill him then and there

right in the entrance to his lair.

Because the dragon is deceased

the princess is who I must reach,

so I can free her from her jail,

the stakes are high and I won’t fail.

Now that the princess has been freed

I ask her “Will you marry me.”

The days since have been full of laughter

and we will live happily ever after.
