Fairytales
You’re beautiful they say, You look amazing they say.
Blind fools, why must you tell such lies.
Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?
Not you, you imbecile thee shall say.
Why can’t I be beautiful?
Where’s my fairy godmother to take me to ball and make me beautiful?
Why does Cinderella get to go and not me?
Oh yeah, look at me.
One look at me and you’ll have nightmares for rest of your life.
Maybe I should be locked away in a tower for a while.
Wait for a Prince to hear me sing out the window.
Oh yeah, he’ll cover his ears and run the other way.
Why can’t I have Rapunzel’s voice and beautiful hair?
Who knows maybe one day I’ll prick my finger on a spinning wheel and fall asleep.
Then maybe a prince will come to wake me up by kissing my lips.
Oh yeah that’s right, he’d leave me to sleep ,because why would someone kiss me?
I don’t have lips like Aurora.
Maybe I should go to some strange castle in middle of night.
Then I might find me a prince looking for love.
Oh yeah that’s right he’d probably run from me in fear.
Why can’t I have Belle’s beauty? Is that too much to ask?
Why couldn’t my daddy be King of the ocean?
Then I’d be a mermaid. I’d be able to sing, be beautiful, and my hair would always be perfect.
I could finally get a man then.
Oh yeah I forgot again, He’d wind up spearing me so he wouldn’t have to see my face again.
Plus I’d be that one mermaid who sounded like a dying seagull and have my hair all messed up.
Where’s my happy ever after?
