As I think to myself the things that’ve gone wrong
I start to sound like a depressing song.
Hoping for the sun to shine,
What has happened to this life of mine?
But then I think of a happy place,
A natural setting with tons of space.
I clear my mind of negative thoughts
And gain the happiness that I sought.
I hear God whisper in the wind.
He tells me that He’ll be my friend.
He’ll help me through my time of struggle
And tells me of the comfort he will smuggle,
Into my heart where He will remain
Now I can no longer complain,
For I have everything I need
It’s planted in my heart like a seed.
From there the seed will grow and grow,
A burning fire will melt the snow
That has hardened my heart in such a time.
Life is no longer a sour lime.
With my faith growing each day,
I can finally see a clearer way.
When everything seems a jumbled mess
And my life is overtaken by stress,
I look to the sky for my friend
And I know that this isn’t a bitter end
But rather it’s just the beginning of new journey
And I know out there it’s not just me
Whose life isn’t completely perfect
And must take a moment to redirect
The heart towards the Son of Man
And wake up thinking that I can.
