Faith like a Tree

I want my faith to be like a tree,

Standing straight and tall and strong,

Always growing.

I want my faith to be like a fire,

A spark, a light, a blaze,

that spreads to others,

A fire forever growing.

And when the rains and storms hit,

The tree bends but never breaks,

It sways but stays in place, held firm, always growing.

And when the cold comes, the fire is a beacon,

A people are drawn towards,

And then the fire grows.

I want my faith to be strong and steady,

A light, a beacon,

Drawing others close to Him,

 forever growing.
