Peter Pan had the right idea
Nobody really wants to grow up
There is no Neverland to escape to
Only realities to face

The fairies we once believed in
No longer hold the same meaning
Sometimes you feel like you’re flying
When you’re actually falling

Some ships might sail without you
Leaving you alone with the alligators
One wrong move could cost you
To take a walk on the plank

Growing up pricks you like a metal hook
Attached to an angry pirate captain
You start to wonder where
All the pixie dust has gone

We can’t run away from growing up
You just have to accept it
Accept that there is no Neverland
And Peter Pan isn’t going to save you.
