looking from the outside i seem normal;

looking from the outside my skin is flawless;

looking from the outside my eyes glitter with happiness;

looking from the outside my lips curl to create a smile;

looking from the outside my head is held high;

but cut me open and you’ll know who i truly am;

you’ll see on the inside i am flawed with scars;

you’ll see on the inside my eyes shed tears endlessly;

you’ll see on the inside my smile is broken;

you’ll see on the inside my smile is broken permanently;

you’ll see that no matter how much make up i want to put on i can never cover the hurt that i have been through;

you’ll see on the inside i am a broken and dark person kept away from all because of fear

you’ll see that on the inside i fight to not show my true emotions;

the emotions that i feel for him that grip at my heart not willing to let go;

the emotions that i feel when i see him; when his eyes meet mine;

but i fight to not show my emotions due to the hurt that i have caused him;

i fight not to show that i still love him even when he has moved on;

even when we have kissed and have become a thing in the past;

i fight to cover the love and agony on the inside;

i fight to not show my true colours.
