Fake Smile

I live a life of forced laughs and fake smiles Of silent sacrifice for the sake of others What is my pain in this world where others struggle to stay afloat? These people are drowning in a sea of despair They need a rock to stand on I laugh my forced laugh and smile my fake smile So I may become this rock But the waves break upon me, and the rock cracks The rock has nobody to rest on It is alone in this ocean of sorrow It is sinking, slowly, but surely The once strong core is hollow now, filling with water The hope that was its core is gone All that remains are the shell of fakesmiles But others still need this hollow rock to give them hope So I laugh my forced laugh I smile a fake smile So that others may float for just a while longer
