The Fall

Location

I feel the breeze as I'm falling

not the frightening wind

but a comforting cloud

assisting my descend

Through a mountain range

hills and valleys

peaks and falls

a strong, winged bird

holds me through it all

Finally, to the open sea

which I assume

will be the death of me.

I brace myself

for suffocation

and drowning

But the sea

the beautiful sea

that I thought would be

the death of me,

is just your eyes

which promise safety.

And the wings of the bird

are the strength of your arms.

As I gently reach earth,

human again because gravity

and the strongest force of all

bring me to peace as I feel myself fall.
