The Fall

When the fall comes

It won’t break my heart

The beat will slow

But I’ll still be alive

I won’t let myself cry

And I won’t give up hope

That someone else will come

But even then

You’ll be in my heart

You taught me how to love

You showed me how to trust

You gave me the stars

You opened my soul

So now that you’re gone

My heart sure does ache

But it’s not broken

Because I’m a better person

For loving you.
