Fall

The colors fill you with warmth Even though there is a breeze to chill your bones And the sunshine and blue sky make you smile Even though you know that soon it will all be asleep Thoughts of what’s ahead You take no notice of ‘Tis the season to remember Your childhood, the fun, the carefree world Piles and piles, growing higher It wasn’t more work, but fun You knew what was coming was worth it You anticipated the moment Soaring high, then falling with a light Thud Your favorite part of the day Was when you could jump Like nothing mattered You could Fall Cheers filling your ears Shouts rising with every moment You sit, not fully knowing The excitement is something you can’t describe But being there with him And spending the day together You remind yourself that soon You would go outside Enjoy the beauty He would throw you into the air It was fun because you knew He wouldn’t let you Fall
