Fall with me

I can’t help thinking about city lights and subway stations recently

I can’t stop thinking of boys and girls with bright pink hair

and sidewalks littered with art

Is it weird to say I want to look up and not see the stars?
I want to wear long trench coats and have the sidewalk be my runway
and I want you with me
I want you holding my hand
and your smile alongside me
What do you think?
I think our dreams are bigger than here
Bigger than this state could ever think of being
and I want to be able to fade into the background
but still have my own spotlight
I want inspiration
I want to be surrounded by people
who have creativity as their life blood
but they are so hard to find here
Come with me
Even just for a few weeks
Come with me
We can dance under the moon
and take walks at night without the fear of silence
I want you to come with me
Won’t you kiss me while we are surrounded by hundreds of people
and hold my face with your mitten covered hands?
Come with me
lets dance to honking horns
and city lights
I love you
won’t you fall in love
with the city of dreams
with me?
