The Fallacy of Education

If I could change

the education system,

the chopping block would be massive.

The way the tests

don’t foster

but execute slowly

the will to think outside the box – atrocious.

In a blank room the clock

tick tick tick,

faster than it should.

The questions never cease

but only the state cares.

Do our students rank above the best?

But what really matters

is what they know.

Can they think?

Or is rote memorization

their only mechanism

for gaining knowledge?

Do they know how to

derive, or just

to search and find?

How does the government help?

I don’t know.

But even if I did,

what could I do?
