Fallen

I have fallen.

My hands are stained

with the scent of autumn,

and my thoughts are stained with blue.

I watch time run and pass me by

As I sit there thinking of Truth

with lies

Shaking,

shaking

the world is gone.

The path to the future seems so long,

and filled with trees

with shadows that stare

and sing to me

as I walk on

and on.

The ground is cold

and wet with snow

that curls up my legs.

“You don’t know

you don’t know”.

My hands watch

and my feet sleep.

The light

The light is buried deep

within the fog

the night

the future keeps.

Rain ribbons tied to my hands

watch me when I try to move.

You plucked the words from a cloud for me.

Now, in the middle of the storm, I see:

Here on the ground

I shall drink the rain

And I shall stand taller by falling

Than I have ever stood before.
