"Fallen"

I stand here all day, every day,
Never moving, never breathing,
Stone cold and solemn.

I demand respect for my 58,220 American brothers,
Who bled for this cause, only to be brought down by fire,
I stand for them, in return, everyday,
Repaying them for their sacrifices.
People say I am a split in the earth,
A crack, a crevice, a wall, a memorial,
But I mean much more than that,

I stand to represent the brave men that stood in the face of evil,
The brave men that are fallen and gone now,
But I will always stand, and I will never fall.
