Fallen

You could never know how much torment I endure on this cold, dim, dismal afternoon. As I stand here on this dark green grassy hill surrounded by the pines, I feel as if this world is crashing down around me. The golden trumpets, with their red, white, and blue tassels, perform their honoring song loud and proud. And as I hear their song, I think that it is the most melancholy melody I have ever heard. As I sit in this ship of my emotions, the flood of sorrow envelopes me and leaves me to die. I weep and weep by your glossy, shadowy, mahogany coffin, covered by our freedom flag.
