Fallen Demon
Like a moth drown to a flame, I gravitated towards you
I craved to know what mystical being allowed you into my life
Because you were sweet
Like warm syrup on a stack of pancakes
Almost too sweet
Overly apologetic, stupidly unaware and blindly followed
Treated me as if I was so fragile, words could break me
You took care of me
But I became so dependant on your love, I thought it was only fair to care for you the same way
I tried to reciprocate the same safe feeling you gave me
I tried to help carry the ever present weight of your past on my own shoulders
But truth is, I wasn't strong enough
And neither were you
You see I've been through some things and I know what it's like to hurt
Some people go to Hell and back
But you... you're stuck in Hell
I tried to give you hope for a better outcome but, for you, there's none
The only outcome you'd hoped for was the one where you were done
