Fallen Hero

He sits on the street, all alone, Asking for something to eat, but he's on his own. You think he won't notice, so you laugh and scorn, But he does, And he's wishing he wasn't born. "It's his fault,." The people say, But put yourself in his shoes for just one day. To me he's a hero, for all he's been through. He's survived more than you could ever do. He's a fallen hero, at least in my eyes. But because of these people, his soul soon dies. At the last minute, you try to reach out. It's to no avail. He's gone without a doubt. Your saddness, your guilt you cannot stop, But there's others like that, so pull yourself up. Get to work to save just one soul And you'll finally realize this person's great roll You'll see he really is just a fallen hero. One great guy, and far from a zero. But you have to reach out in order to see And then you will know what all he could be.
