Fallen Leaves

Maneuvering past the road blocks set up in my heart,

Only to see how much one truly loves me.

He simply glides his way penetrating into my deserting soul,

I fall, laggardly, but I fall.

These concrete burdening blocks transform to multicolored leaves,

Being swept away by a tranquil, whispering, fall breeze.

Yet again I hit the stone cold pavement, as so do the shattered brittle leaves,

To find that God seized my gift of time, to count the days.

For everlasting unfaltering love is destined to elude eternity,

But with you I shall not count the evaporating intoxicating days.

Love travels in miraculous ways,

Ways never forgotten, as heaven beckons me.

For now this love is lost in the lifeless leaves,

Leaves that no longer fall for me.
