Fallen Nation

Mother of a nation Daughter of God Shot, stabbed, killed by the hands of her child What shall become of us now that she’s gone? He’s taken over us and harm has been done We’ve falling captive to his evil trap My loved one’s died by the hands of his death wraps Children carrying guns, men beating women, sons killing their mothers Can they be forgiven? I was told that Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin Yet some of us can’t even find the peace within I look around at all my loved one’s faces Then I notice all the empty spaces “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” Is what I hear Jesus saying Ha! A prayer for peace (now that’s insane too) I wake up in the morning with a smile on my face Until I remember the pain, the smile on your face They took you from us I can’t get you back If you was here then you’d be upset Cuz’ the dudes you messed with made a joke out of your death Dude how would you feel if it was you instead But I guess it don’t matter cuz’ your living your life like your already dead You stand on the corner with a smile on your face How can you smile when you took him from this place? His last words were “all I see is darkness” Now that he’s gone that’s all I feel is darkness I realize now what I didn’t before That when I die we’ll meet again just like before That song Oh Happy Day will feel our hearts with joy
