The Fallen Queen
I once wrote of the pillars of heaven
The hordes in hell
Oh, how I commanded the world
How I became
A citizen of the higher life
Just as Zeus wanted
People, people, spiders, and people
All held on, made marks, left webs
I did not care
I was a citizen of the higher life
Just as Zeus wanted
Nothing fazed me
I thought to run from Zeus
Meant to dive into the sea
The everlasting blue
That spans all the wondrous world
I dove
I dove
I dove
I flew
I flew until Zeus's rage flew me to Hades
The webs
those insignificant insect gifts
Once an afterthought, now my curse
Please let me go
Please lose sight of
My brightened feathers
For they will lose their sheen
If you keep looking
If you keep looking
If you find me worthy of your world
You would let me go, to fly on my way
I ask
I plead
I pray
I scream
I fight
I bleed
I
I am eternally entrenched
In the Neverending noir night
Nevermore a citizen of the higher life
Just as Zeus wanted
