Falling

I woke up falling, Free and fearful all at once. The serene soundlessness, The pleasant perfume of midnight air. This, as the wind clawed and clutched at my back As the spite of the stars’ glare Glued my breath inside my throat. Engineered emptiness echoing endlessly, Louder than roar of rushing blood between my ears. I woke up falling Till I free-fell back to sleep.
