Falling

It's a dark place at times, my soul.

I sink

deeper

and

deeper

into

the

shadows

of

sorrow.

No escape near; dawn never showing its face.

I'm broken.

Bruised.

Misshapen.

Ugly.

The sun won't ever shine upon

the

depths

of

hopelessness

and

mourning.

I see no hope, no faith, no future.

I am empty.

I am cold.

And just when I think I've hit the bottom

I find myself

falling

down

and

down

only becoming more distraught,

more hollow,

more depleted.

I'm angry now.

Why does this happen to me?

What is wrong with me?

Who can stand to live like this?

Maybe

I

deserve

this

pain.

Nobody loves me.

Nobody needs me.

I have no purpose.

I could end this suffering

right

here,

right

now.

And suddenly, by some miracle,

I see a glimmer of light.

I change my mind.

I'll live another day

hoping

and

praying

that

I'll

stop

falling.
