Falling

Words have gone unspoken. Thanks has not been given. Respect has all but vanished. Appreciation is fading. Communication is gone. We are now expected to work till our hands bleed. The fall of a civilization begins with this. It begins with greed. It begins with silence. It begins with disregard for unnecessary generosity. How can we go on like this? When the wise have no voice and the foolish are crowned king? How can we survive this? When the dark times grow ever darker and the light abandons us for good. How can we stay standing? when our feet are knocked from beneath us? How can we remain? When all good has left our kingdom? How can we endure? When there is nothing left to fight for? The answer is simple. We can't.
