Falling on the floor
my words jump out in fragments
my tears fall down in jags
my breath comes in like skipping
my eyes distort the light
My mouth forms such a little shape
or hides behind my teeth
pleading not to be called to lie
pleading not to be called to speak
could you love me for what i do wrong?
could you love me for what matters?
a million things i’ll hide behind
can you cut away the shadows?
I want to be found
so i take a step away
because a foot could make a difference
and your feet could run away
can you love me for what i exaggerate?
can you love me for the fears i create?
can you love me for the things i lack?
can you love the brain my thoughts attack?
My tears take turns now
playing nice
my eyes are swollen
with quiet advice
my thoughts now jog
instead of racing
my breath is steady
soundly pacing
does anybody love these things?
or are my musings, merely flings?
