Falling, A Letter For You
It’s all about
Falling.
Either too hard,
Or too fast.
Following a pattern,
Again
And Again.
But unlike snow,
Floating lightly
Or rain,
Pelting harshly
It doesn’t come with a season.
My falling is year round,
You don’t come
And go.
You aren’t the leaves that change colors,
The ones that drift
In twirls
Toward the ground.
You’re the stars,
Not always seen
But there,
Always.
No one ever told me
That once I fell,
I could keep
Falling.
Every day,
Sinking deeper
And deeper
I’m quicksand,
Moving
Constantly.
Endlessly,
Unexpectedly,
Unknowingly,
Falling.
I don’t want it to be over,
I want it to last
Because with each
Fall
I’m one
Fall
Closer,
To you.
