Falling In Love

It couldn't have been me.

See in the direction the eyes stare.

An angry stranger? I'll never know.

I look again for a clue

No! I can't see. I reel, blind, like a film left out in the sun.

But it's too late.

It was only a little. It wasn't too bright.

But it was too deep.

Staring forever into me

I realize now, that I wasn't looking in.

I was looking out

And he was on the other side looking in.
