Falling in Love with Myself

My pretty brown eyes Light up with fire and desire They hold warmth and kindness My eyelashes are long and soft They flutter shyly at a cute guy They help me catch his eye My legs are skinny trees But they help me move around So I can walk on solid ground My heart pumping love that's so deep Men cannot reach it My heart is genuine and true But easily plays the fool Love should have been taught in school My body is a temple That I need to respect I can't let men neglect My body is sacred and holy God made it that way So I need to treat it that way I have to fall in love with who I am With all my quirks and flaws With my sensitivity, control it, own it I can't let my emotions control me I want to enjoy them, not hate them Beauty has to come from within So when I walk into the room Everyone can see my insides come alive with light In awe and wonder as I walk by Holding my head up high I want to see the good things my family sees I want to live, I want to BE Remembered for what kind of person I was Instead of by the mistakes I made Walking in love and truth It gets hard to do right To live by God's rules But in order to have joy I need to love myself, Nurture myself, respect myself I'm learning to fall in love with me And everything I can be.
