False Assumptions

They are abound.

Hidden from sight

by some,

In plain sight

for others.

Ignored,

by most.

Scorned,

by many.

Some

live up to

the mass assumption.

However,

Countless

drift along

in the category

of unknown,

misunderstood,

unrepresented.

They plead,

for help,

to understand,

to be understood.

They are

the Mentally Ill Homeless.

I believed

once

that theirs

was a destiny

self made,

and self maintained.

I had generalized

and assumed,

that the homeless All had arrived

to their current situation

by bad choices

and mistakes.

Little did I know,

that many had arrived

from circumstances

out

of their control.

Innumerable

amounts of

PEOPLE

go about

life

dealing with

mental illness.

Many of them

are homeless.

With there needs

unattended,

they are

left

to cope

with what

they may not

understand

or be able to

control.

Lost in a world

of confusion,

fear,

and helplessness.

I hope

for change

that more people

may see

what is true

for many

and

not

what is

generalized

and assumed,

by most.
