False Hope

Fear- young children put to sleep by the lullaby of bombs and missiles and school children rushing home at the fear of bombardment; Desperation-A mother begging on the feet of her son not to leave the unprotected haven while the snyper prepares to shoot; Imprisonment- teenagers forced to forfeit wonderful freedom and happiness for safety otherwise known as life between four walls; Hope- a fathers only hope that his son won't be drafted is the only thing over which he has control Vulnerability- a young girl may no longer walk the streets in fear of being kidnapped and raped or held ransome; Honor- the young amateur teenage boys form their own army knowing they have nothing more to lose with useless weapons; Luck- the older dead people are in the luxury of their own graves while a dead orphan is left to rot on the streets Refugee- the last resort for them in fear that they will remain in this state for the rest of their lives; Patience-the widow must sit patiently watching the orchard she and her mate had spent their life planting burn down slowly; Innocence- the 10 year old boy lost his life for writing a seven letter word- freedom- on the wall of his school; Is a two syllabol word worth a persons life ? Treason-he traded his neighbor's life for a measly peace of land and left a dozen orphans to die of hunger Breeding ground for chaos-what better time to bring in drugs and illegalities when the government is preoccupied with killing its people Incurable wounds-they may someday physically heal but the emotional damage is eternal Standby- obvious death in the millions while we just stand by and witness it all Hands tied- my grandmother... My family is trapped there and there is nothing I can do about it What kind of life is this? What will we say to our grand children? What if you were Syrian?
