False Reflection

Sometimes it's hard to embrace the real me.

I don't know what I'm looking for.

When people see me what do they see?

Cause I'm not who I was before.

I have crossed some lines.

And I've told some lies.

I have seen the ugliest parts of me.

I've tried to break the images I saw of me.

Hoping that I'd see a more perfect piece.

My reflection's staring, looking back at me.

And it's calling me, telling me to be,

someone I'm afraid to be.

But I'm not going to try to reason

with a false reflection.

It's like a different personality

is trying to reign in my place.

It wrings the truth so that I can't see,

I'm not hte only one who has to break.

It's getting in my mind

so I cannot decide

the kind of person that I am supposed to be.

I'd break myself to rid my head

of all the crazy images that torment me.

It's not enough

to will myself

to look away before I sink in agony.
