Fame
He thought if he could afford true religion
He could stop guessing
To be or not to be
The debate in his head has him stressing
The issue is pressing
Is it a curse or a blessing
Waist deep in his sorrows
His faith they are testing
The money is beautiful
The pride is infectious
Threw away his soul for fame
He forgot his life was precious
Controlled by his inner demons
Searching for his essence
Drugged his common sense
Wasting the knowledge his mind possesses
Mama told him don't let this money become an obsession
Thought he was living the life
Til he came face to face with oppression
He thought he had friends
But they were false professing
He wishes he could give all the fame back
But that will remain his secret confession
