Familiar

something about you is so familiar

no matter how long we drift apart

I can't help but love you when you're near

maybe how you were the first

the first person to stick to look into my heart

and still stay after what you got hurt

maybe how you never really left

sure, you aren't always around

but I feel you with me in every breath

but when you do leave

I forget to love myself all over again

because without your hand in mine I can hardly breathe

so maybe being familiar is what made me cold

because loving you comes too easy

you already worked your way into my soul

and how do you expect me to love myself, when you finally leave me?
