Familiar Love

Location

It has often been said that

Familiarity breeds indifference

And this may very well be true

For the sun is always shining

And the sky is always blue

And I feel a sad indifference when

I see the flowers bloom

But there is a sharp counterargument

That moves within me when I look at you

You’re a sun that never sets

You’re as brilliant as the moon

You’re a flower that I’ve seen

And yet with every glance it seems

As if you’ve suddenly been renewed

And as we walk farther down

This road of familiarity

I fall uncontrollably

Recklessly

Passionately

And endlessly

 In love with you
