A Familiar Place

Standing from afar

It seems it never ends for

Miles and miles.

You look farther and farther

Hoping you can see the other side

But end up face to face with the

Bright glaring Sun.

You inch your way closer and closer

Feeling a soft cold dramatic change in temperature

Underneath your feet.

Then you start to feel the bubbles

Flow in and out through your toes

Then it becomes all too familiar.

You know exactly what to do now.

You rush in with all your strength

And just dive in to feel the ice cold

Smack against your face.

You shake it off and not let it bother you

And continue to venture out

Further and further

Hoping over seaweed,

Dodging the rapid waves,

And slowly start to see your body disappear underneath you

Till you and the water have become one.

What you call home

Everyone else calls it the big beautiful blue ocean.
