Family

Family...what does it mean to me?

It means cool winds breezing through the trees, the sweet taste of mom’s sweet tea.

Lazy afternoons with nothing to do, or wild houses with little toddlers running through.

We have the occasional fuss and feud, but, for them, there isn’t a thing i wouldn’t do.

They taught me love and life lessons i’ve learned

They taught me everything i get should be earned.

They taught me to be humble but with knowledge comes power

Just like a firm root of a delicate flower

They are the soil from which i strive

They are what helps to keep me alive

They feed my dreams and water my soul

So that i am able to reach any goal

Without them my life would be worthless

Like a dead flower in the spring with no purpose
