Fantasies Before Our Love

It snowed today

Flakes full and thick as the lips of yours that I wish I could kiss

Gradually falling, waves of beauty embracing the outside

As I wish I could entwine with you

 How silent we both are

The snow – committed to a dance of love and performance, passion and poetry –

Me – patiently observing with innocent fantasies and playful “what-ifs” –

When the wind frolics with it,

The true colors of derangement that compose the snow force through.

How every irrational thought and emotion craves to see the pure insanity of you

To feel the intoxicating warmth that enshrouds your skin

As it contrasts with the seductive icy feel of the blankets of white water

To have the ability to open my eyes to yours that reveal a slight mirror into a mind of sweet imagination

As I see mine in every piece of the pale swirls of sky

To feel you – so close that your scent lingers throughout me for hours

Even when the snow itself is odorless

To taste words of pleasure whilst they are still on your tongue

Through the giddiness I feel when capturing one after one of the cold flakes on my own

To feel the thrill of secret words and emotions, shared solely by our souls

Spoken into the mezcla of ghostly chills, fulfilled only when touching ground

And how I long for a future with you

As sure as the next snowfall
