a fantastical heartbreak

this you feel is unrequited love

she has your heart and dances with it letting it hit anything passing by

scraped by the underbrush and stepped on by her new partner

you linger on your history reaching for another second of her presence

there is no one else on this earth

you feel it is just you and her

and that is why you are lonely my dear

she is an angel and angels do not exist on earth

you have placed her farther away

you are sinking as you reach for her

i am sinking as i reach for you

pulling you down to hell with me

the flames tickling at your feet

you laugh only to entertain my existence in your life

i could just as well be a siren

without her you are sailing a rough sea

i am a beautiful siren; a perfectly timed distraction

if you squint i am your angel

i will be your temporary replacement

i do not want you to feel any pain i do not want to take you

you are drowning in the sea of my tears for you

im sorry my love for you is a watery grave

you tell me i am your angel but i know that you’re squinting

i will clip my wings for you so you can meet your real angel in heaven

because it is not just you and her on earth

it is you feeling alone even though i have given my legs up to be with you

she is an angel in heaven and i am a sinner sunk to hell by my greed for you

i cannot have you and you cannot have her

take my legs they are not mine anymore

take my heightened breath when you are around

take the flowers growing in my tired heart

lay them on the grave of her memory

say goodbye to her

i give you every detail of me as a parting gift as i say goodbye to you

i can stand a lonely eternity in hell if i know that you are living

so run with the power of my legs

breathe my heightened breath

and live with my love
