Fantasy

Leave the world behind,

Enter my own mind.

Hidden mindful fantasy,

Tucked away crispy,

On fresh off white pages.

Take a hand,

But don’t forget to run.

Carry on until the last drop

Of ink has run dry.

And the covers snap shut—Good-bye.

So many possibilities;

So much wonder masked by

Colored images and fantastic words.

Brings me on a journey

Providing haven from truth.

Keep me safe, books of life,

send me on adventures!

Until the bell tolls again and

I am forced to wander home,

Accompanied by the books in my mind.
